Changing the Windows Vista Theme: For WINForms

If you are attempting to use WinForms on Windows Vista you will have to change your theme to Windows Classic prior to opening the Form Viewer. Otherwise, errors will be encountered and the application will immediately close. Click on any picture below to enlarge.

 

• Step 1: Right click somewhere on the desktop
• Step 2: Click "Personalize"

 

 

• Step 3: Select "Theme" from the Personalization screen

 

 

• Step 4: Drop-down the list of available themes and select "Windows Classic"
• Step 5: Click "OK"

 

 

• Step 6: Close the Personalization window and login to WinForms again.
