Supra D-Key Firmware Upgrade Update
Supra D-Key Firmware Upgrade Update
We have new details and information on the SuperNet D-Key updating issue:
1) The reason SuperNet stressed using cradled auto-synch was to enable the lengthy firmware upgrade required to obtain the Silvar codes. Downloading the very large amount of data required is so time consuming that using cradled autosynch is the easiest and most pain-free way for CCAR D-Key holders to do that process.
2) SuperNet reasoned that an overnight cradled autosynch meant that the lengthy period of time required wouldn’t be noticed or intrude on the workday.
3) Going forward—if Members intend to conduct business only in CCAR territory, then once you have upgraded the firmware on your D-Key, you can continue to use manual e-synchs as in the past and update your D-key on the fly. You can also do a manual e-synch (or get an update code) the day you intend to show property in the Silvar area. Note: When SuperNet makes significant changes requiring firmware upgrades in the future, CCAR will notify you appropriately.
4) As of yesterday, SuperNet has enabled CCAR Members keys to perform the firmware update process manually without required cradling or intervention from SuperNet. This too is a lengthy process that requires you to successfully perform a series of 3 manual e-synchs in succession over a 45 minute to 1-hour period.
