It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Jack Burns, Sr. passed away on March 9, 2017. A beloved REALTOR® for 45 years, he was Broker of Record/Co-Owner of Security Pacific Real Estate, Inc. since 1981 until he retired in 2012. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jack´s life on March 21, 2017 at 3:30pm at the Green Valley Country Club located at 35 Country Club Dive in Fairfield.
Affiliate member Curtis Lawson passed away on January 19, 2017 at the age of 70. Curt was a Vietnam Army Veteran and the owner of Concord Termite Control for over 30 years. He was a respected leader in his church and admired by his colleagues and community for his honesty, strong morals, faith, generosity and kindness.
REALTOR® Ben Miller started his real estate career in 1998 as a mortgage broker and switched to the sales side of the business in 2011. A master of customer service and a true passion for residential real estate, he touched the hearts of all he encountered. Ben was also very active in the Lamorinda community, and was a believer in giving back. Ben is survived by his wife Ashlie and young children Max (6) and Raleigh (3 months).

We´re sad to note the passing of longtime CCAR Member (since 1968!) and Orinda Broker, Steven Beckett on April 11 after a long illness. Many of you may remember Steve for his passions, including cooking, hiking and a 1965 Pontiac GTO muscle car. Services were held on April 17th.
Paul Sween, long-time CCAR member most recently affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway Drysdale Properties in Danville, passed away unexpectedly February 22nd. He leaves behind an 18 year-old son, Michael, for whom a college scholarship fund has been started. If you would like to contribute, please call 925.359.9901 for information. A memorial Mass for Paul will be held at St. Isidore´s Catholic Church in Danville at 10:30 this Saturday, March 19th. There will not be a reception following however the family will greet attendees before and after the Mass.
We are sad to report that longtime Contra Costa REALTOR® Joanne E. Dunne passed away peacefully at home in Lafayette, California on Friday, March 20, 2015 and is now reunited with her husband, John C. Dunne. A fourth generation Californian, Joanne truly exemplified the tradition of REALTOR® dedication to the community. Her Celebration of Life will be on Sat., June 27th at 11:00 AM at the Lafayette Veteran´s Memorial Center on 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Lafayette.
Joanne was deeply involved in service organizations for the length of her very successful career, including the Jr. Women´s Club in Walnut Creek where she served as President at both the District and State level. She founded the Hill and Dale Branch of the Jr. WC in El Cerrito/Richmond and was the Executive Director for March of Dimes for Contra Costa County and active in the Easter Seal Society.

Very, very sorry to report that longtime CCAR REALTOR® and friend Scott Ferguson passed away on Sunday afternoon, after suffering a stroke that morning.
He was beloved by many, and lived a long and faithful life. Please hold Dorothy, their children Kevin and Amy, and their extended family in your prayers.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Scott Ferguson will be held this Friday, March 6, 1:00 pm, at the Orinda Community Church. All are invited.
Tom passed away at home with his family by his side. Tom spent his entire life in Pinole, CA, where he was born, raised, and an active business owner for 36 years. He graduated from Richmond High School and St. Mary's College. After college, Tom entered the Army where he actively served in Vietnam.
Tom began a career in Real Estate in 1973. He and his wife opened Old Time Realtors in 1978 and later Venice Mortgage Company. Tom was a community leader serving throughout his life: City Councilman & Mayor of Pinole, and most recently as a Pinole Youth Council member, and Board President of the Pinole Area Senior Foundation.
Tom's life passion was to help others, touching many lives through his generosity. He loved to conduct business, hunt with his buddies, and entertain everyone with jokes and stories. Making us laugh 'till the very end, he will be forever loved and missed by his family and multitude of friends.
